This course is a basic one day confined space entry course designed for personnel whom are not required to act as a standby person, issue confined space permits, perform a confined space rescue or undertake gas testing. Most confined space entrants should completed the two day enter confined space course.

Fitness to Participate declaration Sufficient language, literacy and numeracy skills to complete the course Safety footwear, Long sleeves and long pants USI that can be verified to ensure release of Statement of Attainment
Description:
This training course is designed for people already employed who may be required to work in or around confined spaces, but not to act as a standby person, issue work permits, perform confined space rescue nor undertake gas testing.

- Acts, Regulations and Australian Standards
- Identifying Confined Spaces
- Risk Identification and Assessments
- Risk Mitigation and Controls
- Applying for Permit
- Preparing for permit work and accesing and undertaking work in confined space
- Confined Space Safety Equipment & PPE
- Concluding confined space work and permit
Practical skills:
Conducting risk assessment and entering confined space under issued permit

Assessment:
Assessment of this course is through written assessment and observation of students carrying out a range of practical activities involving entering confined spaces under issued permit.
Delivery Method:
Classroom theory via PowerPoint or the issued learner resource including use of audio-visual material and practical activities involving entering confined spaces under issued permit.
