In our Inspect & test fire blankets & fire extinguishers course you will learn to service with a range of portable fire fighting equipment. As a technician, you’ll be able to install, inspect and test & tag fire fighting equipment within your own workplace.

Description:
This training course includes both the theory and practical component required to inspect and test fire extinguishers and fire blankets as part of routine testing and inspections, as well as identify where repairs or replacements are required to be performed / installed by licensed trades or occupations. Licensing, legislative, regulatory and certification requirements that apply to this unit can vary between states, territories, and Industry sectors.
Content:
Specific skills are required to achieve the performance criteria in this course these are as follows:
- Inspection and testing of fire extinguishers in accordance with Australian Standards
- Inspection and testing of fire blankets in accordance with Australian Standards
- Maintenance tag updating and recording
- Tools and equipment
- Managing faulty equipment
Unit of Competency
CPPFES2020A Conduct routine inspection and testing of fire extinguishers and fire blankets
Assessment:
Students learning outcomes will be assessed using practical activities designed to simulate a workplace incident and written or oral questions as appropriate. Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be issued with a Statement of Attainment.

Classroom theory via PowerPoint presentations, including audio-visual material and practical activities that simulate workplace environments
